Vim keys for Markdown notes, optional and off by default: Settings → Markdown, or Ctrl+Alt+Shift+V. Modes, operators with counts, motions and text objects, registers, marks, macros, ., search, and commands like :s, :g, :sort, :normal and :map. One undo step per command
Vim's carets: a block, its lower half while an operator like d or y waits, an underline for r, a bar in insert mode, and the block's middle cut out while a command like g waits for its next key
A small panel floats over the text only when needed: the command line, messages, a macro being recorded. On touch devices a small Esc button out of normal mode
gg and G stay in a code block, then go on to the whole note
:15 and searches show a blue block on the target first: Esc goes back, Enter goes there
