The Harpoon workflow — and the broader Vim ethos — has really shaped how I think about navigation and efficiency. It’s changed how I work.
The last bit of daily friction I couldn’t ignore or solve was macOS itself. I kept asking: why can’t I navigate my Mac the same way I navigate my editor?
That led me to build Hopscotch — a native macOS app inspired by Harpoon and Vim-style navigation, but applied to window and app switching at the OS level.
It’s still very early days, and I’m honestly still trying to understand who this is most useful for and whether it resonates beyond my own workflow.
Since Harpoon has been such a big influence, I wanted to reach out to this community and ask:
• Is bringing Harpoon-style workflows to macOS something you’d personally find valuable?
• If so, does Hopscotch’s approach line up with how you’d expect it to work?
Any honest feedback would be hugely appreciated — even if it’s “this doesn’t solve a problem for me.”
