A large update focused on the Mission Editor, an all-new tactical map/overview, and true BC7 texture compression across most assets — plus a wide spread of rendering, picking, and stability fixes.
To install - just unpack the 7z into a folder
Mission Editor — major overhaul
Mod Projects — create, open, and import missions into self-contained mod projects with project-bound saves.
One-click Playtest — launch the current mission straight into the game (mod-aware), with automatic log capture and a Playtest Results panel.
Gameplay Debugger — live mover table fed from the running playtest.
Frame Inspector — live per-pass render stats with per-pass GPU timing.
Asset Browser with thumbnails, a command palette, object-ID overlay, undo history, and forest/foliage editing with undo.
Validator — crash/corruption checks before you ship a map.
UI polish — auto-docked panel layout, collapsible columns, DPI fixes, and exact mouse picking. Off-map placement crash fixed.
Tactical Map & Overview — all new
Brand-new strategic tactical overview: unit-icon overlay, squad cards, order/movement arrows, friendly-coverage tint, and enemy/contact + objective markers.
New formation tools — drag-to-place formation lines with ghost preview, slot pips, and mouse-wheel spacing.
Cleaner combat readout: hairline weapon-range rings, tower/sensor coverage, own-units-only filtering. Legacy blue friendly-chevron clutter removed.
True BC7 texture support
New CPU BC7 decoder and default-on BC7 .ktx2 texture path — most assets now ship GPU-compressed for lower VRAM and faster loads.
Smart fallback: sources from BC7 when a legacy .tga is absent; paint-scheme (team-color) textures correctly excluded from compression.
Residency-aware slim deploy trims unused texture variants from the build.
Asset Viewer (new tool)
Standalone model/asset viewer that previews props with the real engine shaders, plus LOD-chain inspection, texture-set validation, and a stock-roster picker.
Rendering & stability
GPU-driven chunk terrain at legacy visual parity; shadow-pass state stability; water depth fixes.
Picking fixes — buildings now selected via world-space bounding box (no more per-face misses); formation drag uses the production picker.
Numerous mission-load and oversized-map crash fixes.
Mod tooling
mc2mod pack/install/verify CLI and cleaner mod indexing.
