Features

• AI Meal Photos: attach a meal photo in Trace and get an editable FDA-style Nutrition Facts card to review before anything writes to your diary. Two card variants depending on what you ask for: Quick Calories (one-off kcal + macros) or a reusable Food entry in your library. Estimates cover the full ~30-nutrient profile at the portion size visible in the photo.
• LiftTrace workout sync: receive completed workouts from a LiftTrace install via the federation API. Sessions appear in Workout History alongside Fitbit / Garmin / Health Connect and feed the dynamic calorie goal. Set up by issuing an API token from Settings → API Tokens with the write:workouts scope.
• Local Open Food Facts mirror (selfhost opt-in): point NutriTrace at a local DuckDB / Parquet copy of OFF and barcode + name search hit it first for instant, network-free responses. In-app refresh schedule, atomic swaps, optional true air-gap mode that blocks all remote OFF traffic. See DEPLOY.md → Local Open Food Facts mirror for the full setup.
• Quick Calories: Fitbit-style fast kcal entry, no food row required. Optional protein / carbs / fat alongside. Trace AI can also log entries by voice or chat ("log 240 kcal for lunch with 20g protein"). Edit any entry by tapping it in the diary.
• OIDC RP-initiated logout (PWA + Android): signing out now also ends the session at your identity provider, so the next sign-in isn't silently completed by a still-alive IdP session. Tested against Authentik, Pocket-ID, Authelia.
• Smart Log Voice Input Language picker: Settings → AI Assistant → Smart Log → Voice Input Language. Pick the mic language independently of device locale, for anyone who keeps their device set to English but speaks another language at meals.
• API Tokens panel is now open to single-user installs (was previously gated behind an env var and multi-user mode). Makes wiring federation a one-step setup.
• Body Water % as a manual body stat, alongside Body Fat %. Withings already auto-syncs this (type 77) and continues to; non-Withings users can now log the number their smart scale displays.
• Gradient page banners option in Settings → Appearance → Page Banners. A compact, accent-tinted header with a glassy backdrop, midway between the tall illustrated banners and the bare compact header.
• Wizard celebration screen on onboarding completion (trophy + confetti, ~1.8s, honors prefers-reduced-motion).
• Push notifications connection status banner, matching the pattern used by USDA / Mealie / AI / Wellness integrations.
• Sleep score tuning: very short nights (under 5 hours) no longer balloon the deep + REM percentage above realistic ceilings, bringing calculated scores closer to Fitbit's own.
• AI assistant: nutrition-history queries no longer capped at 90 days. The history window goes back up to 10 years now, with a single bulk fetch instead of per-day HTTP calls (much faster for multi-year MFP imports).
• Logging streak in Trace: ask "what's my food logging streak" and Trace answers from the actual diary, counting any diary engagement (food, water, body stats, notes) walking back from today until the first gap.

Fixes

• Local OFF mirror search returned empty results. Backend was finding hits but the foods list dropped them all due to a DuckDB v1 shape regression in how VARCHAR fields are returned. Searching the local mirror returns real products again (#53, reported by duplaja).
• Tapping a reminder notification on Android now opens NutriTrace. Meal / water / weigh-in reminders had no tap target before, so tapping just dismissed the notification.
• Env-locked AI deployments now support the full Trace tool set. The server-side AI proxy used when AI_API_KEY is set in env was built before tool use shipped, so on env-locked installs Trace silently dropped every tool call (get_diary, get_wellness, log_quick_calories, etc.) and replied with text only. Now full parity with the direct-key configuration across Claude, OpenAI, and Gemini.
• Backup list errors no longer silently swallowed. Settings → Backup's full-backup list was catching network errors AND non-2xx responses into an empty list, so a failed fetch looked identical to "no backups exist." Now surfaces the server error message + status code.
• OFF local mirror barcode scans threw a JS error on the client. The Parquet schema adapter assumed product_name lists were always real Arrays, but the DuckDB Node API can return list-like iterables that broke the assumption (#22 followup, reported by duplaja).
• OFF local mirror: scanning a UPC-A barcode no longer makes a pointless call to the public OFF API. Scans now use the same canonical 13-digit format Open Food Facts stores its codes in (#22 followup, reported by duplaja).
• Diary: meal kcal footer truncated meals over 1000 kcal. Per-meal subtotal was dropping digits after the thousands comma, so a 1,234 kcal lunch displayed as "1 kcal" (#51, reported by LoveHonorGirth).
• AI Assistant chat panel could stop opening after a tool-use round. Duplicate message keys broke the panel render until history was cleared (#40).
• Bulk-imported foods now sync immediately to Android. Server wasn't stamping updated_at on new rows, so the differential sync skipped them. Includes a migration that recovers rows already imported (#39).
• Docker image now actually loads DuckDB. Base swapped from Alpine to Debian-slim so the OFF mirror feature works end to end. Image grows ~30 MB.
• AI assistant streak hallucinations. Mini-class models would invent streak numbers instead of calling the streak tool. Your streak is now pre-computed into Trace's context block on every chat round.
• Statistics: days with food but 0 g of a nutrient now count as 0-day entries instead of being silently dropped, so avoiding added sugars on a day you logged food shows as a 0 bar, not a blank (#45).
• Goals: weight, body fat, and measurements fall back to the most recent reading within the last 30 days when today has no entry, with subtle "as of May 18" subtext under the value (#46).
• Settings: long labels next to dropdowns rendered vertically. Capped the small-dropdown width so labels render normally again.
• Several smaller things; see the full CHANGELOG.
