Purpose

Coffee n' Code UW is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all its members, ensuring that each and every one is nurtured, encouraged, and empowered to pursue and develop their interest in technology, software development, and professional enhancement. The club believes that it is important that members, committee, administrators and any partners associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others, regardless of age gender, sex, sexual orientation, religion, politics, socioeconomic status, interests, or lack thereof. In this effort, members are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with any member of the committee or the executive team.

The intention of this document is to establish clear expectations and acceptable behavior from the members and associated partners of Coffee n' Code UW, to ensure an environment that is free from discrimination, harassment, abuse, and violence. It is not intended to restrict the rights of anyone; rather, to ensure that all persons are treated with dignity and respect. To this end, it is understood that any individual intending to be associated with Coffee n' Code UW have given their consent to be bound by articles of this code of conduct.

Committee-Specific Provisions

Expected Behaviour

As a member of NAME OF CLUB, you are expected to abide by the following code of practice:  All members must take responsibility in ensuring they are up to date with the rules, understand and adhere to them.  All members must respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of age, gender, ability, race, cultural background, religious beliefs or sexual identity.  Members should recognise the valuable contribution made by coaches and officials who are usually volunteers. They give their time and resources to provide netball for you.  All members must respect officials and publicly accept their decisions.  All members should be a positive role model, treat other players and officials with the same level of respect you would expect to be shown to you.  Use correct and proper language at all times.  Members are not allowed to smoke, consume alcohol or drugs on club premises or whilst representing the club.  Members should keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or inform their coach or team manager if they are going to be late.  Members must wear suitable kit for training and match sessions, as agreed with the coach/team manager.  Members must pay any fees for training or events promptly.  Bullying of any sort will not be tolerated.  Bullying of any sort will not be tolerated. Encourage everyone to enjoy sport and understand that people have different motivations for taking part.

Deliberate or Unintended

Unacceptable conduct may be deliberate or unintended. The test is whether a reasonable person knows or ought to know that such behaviour would be considered unwelcome or inappropriate by the recipient.

Violations

s The Board of Directors, it’s Officers and the Management of the Club has the authority, as set out in the Club Bylaws, to enforce this Code of Conduct Policy against any members who are in violation. This may include suspension of rights and privileges of the offending Member and/or Expulsion from the Club.
