What happened?
I configured new VirtualBox machine for Ubuntu 24.04.03 on Lenovo Intel (12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1245U (1.60 GHz)) based laptop. Enabled Secure Boot, increased video memory to 256MB and enabled 3D acceleration, PAE, nested VT. Nested pages were already enabled.
Then started Ubuntu installer (uses Wayland), wizard is displayed correctly. Then closed the wizard and opened settings. The settings window shows white box instead of settings.
Desktop, side panel with icons, menus, wizard are displayed correctly.
Last drawn graphics visible in the area of the window. Window (well, the white area) reacts correctly to resize with corners and closing via kbd shortcut or invisible 'button' in the right upper corner.
Then disabled 3D Acceleration in Virtual Box and the settings are displayed correctly.
Remarks:
- Wayland on Ubuntu 22.04 displays almost all correctly (except libre office based apps which in turn are displayed fine in 24.04 Wayland with 3d acceleration enabled).
Some journal content (sorry for the images, but shared clipboard didn't work at this stage), some content show that there are some version of addons modules integrated into live iso:
How can we reproduce this?
- Configure Ubuntu machine
- Enable 3d acceleration
- boot from 24.04 live iso
- when booted close the wizzard and open settings.
- White box instead of settings is show.
Did you upload all of your necessary log files, screenshots, etc.?
- Yes, I've uploaded all pertinent files to this issue.
