EVE Online issues

Hey there! Recently switched to niri from hyprland and really liking it. Enough so that I am moving over to it full time. I'm using the nix flake and home-manager module, and my config can be found here.

I'm having several issues with my primary game - EVE Online - and hoping some folks here might be able to offer some insight.

1. Sometimes when I am doing stuff on other workspaces and click back into EVE, the EVE window disappears. The client remains running, but the window itself is gone. I have to force-quit and restart the client from the launcher. This seems to have been resolved by swtiching from Proton Experimental to GE-Proton10-25.
2. Similar to the first, frequently when I click back into EVE my camera will spin wildly, and continue to do so whenever I try to manipulate the camera until I unfocus/refocus the window (I usually just quickly pull up and dismiss the overview). This is relatively minor but can be annoying if I need to act quickly.
3. Addition to 2 - sometimes after I click back into the EVE window, it won't take any input (mouse or keyboard), even if I don't get the spinny camera bug. Fixed with unfocus/refocus.

What I've tried:

• Most of the performance tweaks found here: https://gitlab.com/chloroken/eve-on-linux/-/wikis/tweaks
  • Gamescope has its own set of issues, and isn't really an option since I usually run two EVE clients.
• VRR on/off/on-demand (w/ window rule for EVE when on-demand is true).
• Skipping cursor-only updates as outlined here.
• ProtonGE

I use Proton Experimental in Steam with these launch options:
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=40 PROTON_USE_NTSYNC=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 LD_PRELOAD= %command%

Anybody here experienced this and/or have some recommendations?

EDIT: Forgot to add that I did try ProtonGE before, but I didn't try it with VRR+window-rule. Trying that now.

Can you use xeyes and see if the eyes follow onto EVE Online..?

Never used this app before lol. They seem to follow it, but they are also cross-eyed, so unsure how to read that one. In other cases, they look the entirely wrong direction (e.g. discord), but seem to respond to mouse movement.

All I need to know is if you hover your mouse over EVE do they keep moving or nah

To me then, this sounds as a uh Xwayland-satellite issue, you may have better help making an issue with thems
