How do we augment the user with claims from authentication "handshake" instead of ldap calls?

We've used LDAPCP for years with ADFS, but now need to augment the user with claims presented with the authentication response instead of pinging AD, ADFS, LDAP, etc.

Can this be accomplished with LDAPCP? If not, other ideas are welcome :)

I am not sure to understand your question.
SharePoint does not allow claims providers (LDAPCP or any other) to access the claims populated in the incoming security token.
During augmentation, the only information about the user that SharePoint provides, is their claim identity.
