Project Tabletop 1.3.0
Project Tabletop 1.3.0
Stryker's Run joins the tabletop, Globe becomes a detailed NASA Earth-and-stars explorer, and guided marker setup brings the same double-bar controller to Football, Water Garden and Paint.
Download and install
Download ProjectTabletop-1.3.0-win-x64-setup.exe from the release assets. It targets Windows 11 x64 and includes .NET, the Windows App SDK, native C++ dependencies, hand models, artwork and sounds. Setup installs for your account without administrator rights and creates a Start menu shortcut. Updates preserve settings, saved games, learned profiles and exported pictures.
The setup is unsigned; Windows may display an unknown-publisher warning. SHA256SUMS.txt records the asset hashes, and the JSON manifest identifies the source commit and packaged files. The source archives are separate from the Windows installer. The optional local-control MCP executable is included in the ControlMcp subfolder. See the installation guide.
Stryker's Run
- A five-level arcade campaign with automatic fire, squad-recruiting gates, escalating enemies, a Bulwark ally and five distinct bosses.
- Steer with the dotted control strip. Lifting your hand pauses the action and reveals EXIT buttons beside the strip.
- A devastated city scrolls behind the road in parallax, while Stryker's scarf trails opposite his movement.
- Animated barrel throws and flames, lightning clouds, electric spiders and returning lightning attacks. Defeated spiders leave glowing, smoking craters that scroll away with the road after the battle.
Globe
- A 16,384 × 8,192 NASA Deep Star Map surrounds Earth as a slowly rotating celestial sphere, with a detailed Milky Way, natural stars and occasional shooting stars. The sky rotates at 0.03 degrees per second without regional dimming.
- Smoother Earth surface details, silhouette and blue atmosphere, with the star rendering preserved.
- Dotted ZOOM and PITCH bars provide continuous control. Their rounded black surrounds, labels and white value pointers stay with the drawer and swipe visibility.
- MODEL toggles CLOUDS, NO CLOUDS and NIGHT. Models load on demand, releasing the previous Earth textures instead of retaining all three. The expanded choices survive closing and reopening the drawer or hiding and restoring controls.
- Reaching across MODEL or SAVE to a model choice cancels the lower holds. SAVE exports only Earth and stars, at the current view and animation time, as a PNG with a 3840-pixel long edge in local Pictures\Globe. It confirms Saved to Pictures folder and waits until model loading finishes before becoming available.
Markers, Football and Water Garden
- Guided double-bar setup appears automatically on first use when a required profile is missing. It checks stationary positions, movement in both directions and the clear board before SAVE MARKER becomes available. Setup can also be opened from SETUP → BOARD CONTROL.
- Water Garden and Paint share their camera-specific marker profile; Football keeps separate profiles for each player. Improved detection tolerates uneven illumination, partly shaded gaps and brief partial visibility while still rejecting projected scenery.
- Football keeps the crowd silent during training. Long rallies introduce multiball, reaching seven balls before a goal resets the kickoff.
- Water Garden gains refined water, immersed rocks, sand writing and fountain/wand audio. Rendering work is reused and bounded to improve animation without changing input behavior; the physical-tabletop comparison was reported smoother with controls working.
Paint and shared controls
- Paint uses the double bars as its painting input: ink trails behind movement and continues dropping while the marker is stationary. Bare hands no longer paint.
- A compact arrow drawer contains EXIT, RESET and SAVE. Paint edges are thinner and less dark to help marker visibility. SAVE exports without controls and displays Saved to Pictures folder.
- Image exports now go directly into local Pictures\Paint, Pictures\Photo Copy or Pictures\Globe, even when the Windows Pictures library is redirected. Existing files are not moved.
- Long-press captions consistently use uppercase Segoe UI Semibold. Shared holds require broken lettering, and intact letters clear progress. Layered navigation arrows, improved grouped-finger acquisition and more tolerant directional swipes improve control access.
- Swiping either way toggles controls on supported boards. Roulette intentionally keeps its footer visible; reaching onto its betting area disengages footer holds until the obstruction clears. Rounded spotlight protection removes the former black square corners.
- Blackjack's four betting coins and EXIT use long presses. Roulette's chip layout is easier to reach, and returning from a game restores its menu page. Crown & Deed has a smaller copper EXIT GAME below START GAME on its opening table.
- Projected Settings explains that licenses open in the main app window; the unnecessary Open selected file action is removed.
Camera and runtime
- Automatic Default and Dark scene picture profiles preserve compatible per-camera settings and reduce Globe contrast to retain faint detail, restoring Default elsewhere. Shutter, ISO, white balance and capture rate are unchanged.
- Independent input workers and reusable camera buffers avoid stale frame queues. Only one app instance may run, with a camera lease held until capture stops. Camera failures pause input rather than repeatedly restarting the device.
- The laptop's projection preview can be switched off while projection and input continue. The release uses the stable .NET 10 SDK 10.0.402; no beta SDK is required.
Validation and limits
The release source passed 668 offline tests with no skips. The final Globe MODEL/SAVE correction also passed 80 focused tests and seven rendered-control checks. In the subsequent physical test, the user confirmed that NO CLOUDS and NIGHT both load, the choices remain open, and reaching across SAVE does not cause an accidental save. Other live checks confirmed the zoom/pitch bars, drawer restoration, menu arrows, Blackjack holds, Roulette reach behavior, Football marker movement and smoother Water Garden animation.
The Windows release pipeline separately builds and tests the source, assembles the installer, and checks installation, startup, navigation, a GPU preview, shutdown and uninstall before publishing. These packaging checks do not substitute for camera/projector acceptance. Physical checks use the development tabletop; other cameras, lighting conditions and projector setups can still need adjustment. Water Garden's added movement-training stage, Paint RESET and stationary pouring, and tracking across every painted boundary still need their own physical acceptance checks. The README retains the detailed verification history and limitations.
