Unable to integrate ScanCode.io within DejaCode

I am trying to run both ScanCode.io and DejaCode locally (macOS).

Until this step, I could follow the given instructions: Install and configure ScanCode.io

Though, when I observe 'Integrations Sections' within DejaCode, it shows following error:

ScanCode.io instance is reachable via configured URL: http://localhost:8080

Can somebody please help me with this issue?

Hi @harshadsinkar , thanks for reporting this issue.

I've started to investigate and it seems that in this setup (locally on macOS), both services reachable by the host, using your browser for example, but not from the container itself as the apps are running on a different "docker" network.

I'm working on a proper solution and I will keep you updated.

@harshadsinkar could you try http://host.docker.internal:8080 in place of http://localhost:8080/ in the Dataspace configuration for the ScanCode.io service URL?
The localhost hostname is not working in the context of a Docker container but the http://host.docker.internal:8080 seems to work fine on my side.

Hi @sinkarharshad, could you clarify if you pulled the latest changes on the DejaCode or ScanCode.io side, or both?

Also, can you access http://host.docker.internal:8080 in your browser?

  -> ScanCode.io is reachable via localhost:8080 or 127.0.0.1:8080 on the browser
• Also, this time I am running both ScanCode.io and DejaCode on Linux based host machine

Ok, I don't see any recent changes in the code that would have an impact on the Docker internal network.
Could you try to fully stop and restart both services?
