Interrupt LED doesn't work

According to the datasheet, apart from the power LED, there is another LED on the board.

Interrupt LED - On the back of the board below the STEMMA QT port on the left is the interrupt LED. It is the red LED and turns on whenever an interrupt is detected.

But when I press the buttons or rotate the wheel, nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong?

Are you enabling the interrupt in your code? Are you using the Arduino or CircuitPython seesaw library?

No. I thought this worked hardware-side out of the box without any additional code. :)

I use CircuitPython and the code sample from https://learn.adafruit.com/ano-pod/code-2.

I would be very grateful if you could share code examples on how to control the Interrupt LED.

The pin change interrupts are disabled by default.

The general purpose function for enabling this in the CircuitPython library is the set_GPIO_interrupts() function:

There is another function enable_encoder_interrupt() that is a convenience method for enabling interrupts on the GPIO pins used for encoder(s):

Those functions are seesaw generic and not specific to the ANO encoder breakout. To determine the pins for the ANO encoder, can use pinout page from the product guide:

From that it can be seen that the encoder pins are 15 and 16 and the button pins are 1 thru 5. So to enable interrupts for the encoder and the buttons, use something like:

seesaw.set_GPIO_interrupts(0b11000000000111110, True)

Add that line of code somewhere after the code that configures the button pins to have INPUT_PULLUP.

Use get_GPIO_interrupt_flag() to read and clear the interrupts.

To disable the interrupts, call the set function again with a False parameter:

seesaw.set_GPIO_interrupts(0b11000000000111110, False)

The mask can be adjusted to individually enable/disable interrupts for specific pins.

@FluorescentHallucinogen I moved this issue into this repo since it is CircuitPython library code related. The other repo was the hardware CAD files for the PCB itself.
