A Meta-Operating System to govern Cloud–Edge–IoT Continuum
aerOS is a European Horizon Europe research and innovation project that aims at developing a Meta-Operating System to manage the Cloud–Edge–IoT Continuum.
It provides an open, interoperable framework for federated, intelligent, and self-adaptive orchestration of workloads and resources across heterogeneous and distributed environments — spanning from cloud data centers to far-edge and IoT devices.
- 🌍 Ubiquitous access to the state of the continuum in a decentralized way: Distributed State Network of Brokers with no duplication or replication of data (based on pub/sub NGSI-LD)
- ⚙️ Decentralized and intelligent service orchestration system across the whole spectrum of the continuum.
- ☁️ Cloud-native concepts brought to the edge.
- 🔗 Open-source, standard-aligned components fostering interoperability and sustainability.
- 📊 Key data from CEI continuum in a Data Fabric, with a novel and custom ontology created from scratch.
