Metafor 0.4.8 adds a brief first-open guide to Metafor Chat and Metafor Help.
- Learn how to explore connected topics and ask focused follow-up questions.
- Learn the Option + M shortcut for opening and hiding compact screen-aware Help.
- Open model Settings directly from the guide, or reopen it through Metafor → Quick start….
- Completion is saved separately from model settings and conversation history. Help-only activation remains unchanged.
Apple silicon · macOS 26 or later. Open the DMG and drag Metafor into Applications. Model answers require internet access and your own API key; Meta is the default provider. Help asks for Screen Recording permission, and screen questions share a snapshot with your configured AI provider.
This preview is ad-hoc signed, not Developer ID signed or notarized. macOS may require approval in System Settings → Privacy & Security before opening it.
Validation: 208 desktop tests, 248 web conversation tests, TypeScript, desktop packaging, strict app signature verification, and DMG integrity checks pass. Isolated headless checks verified the guide at normal and minimum window sizes. The packaged app was not launched during this release check.
