Serve original images when zoomed in

I recently moved to using IPP and Immich over Google Photos, and it's great! I mostly use it to serve small image galleries that I want to be shown at full resolution, and from my testing, it seems like it's only showing the preview quality of an image at best. If I download the image it will download at full res, but it would be nice to have an option to serve the full resolution image if you zoom in.

The problem with "original" image is that it could be something like RAW or DNG which a browser cannot display. Or potentially the original image is a 400MB panorama which again would be a disaster.

However it looks like Immich has a new (perhaps it was always there?) option to fetch the fullsize image (link). Nope, I just did some testing and it appears to serve the same preview size. Perhaps it is "coming soon", in which case we can use that as the zoom target.

Is IPP doing some recompression? If I compare image quality served by IPP and directly by Immich, Immich version is clearly better (just display, not download). Would it be possible for IPP to display the image in the same quality as Immich itself? Thank you.
