Does composition for CompositionPlayer and Transformer supports to overlay .gif files as timePresentation?

I required to overlay a transparent .GIF file while using either OverlayEffect or EditedMediaItemSequence,
does it provide support if not what would be alternative?

.gif files are not supported out of the box in CompositionPlayer or Transformer.
