Puppet Desk 1.2.0 — Hand Studio Update with Live Hand Puppeteering Window
Hand Studio Update with Live Hand Puppeteering Window
Create and save gestures in Hand Animation Studio, then use them during a performance in the separate Live Hand Puppeteering window.
Hand Animation Studio
- Embedded preview of your puppet and both hands.
- Blue motion keyframes: select, drag to retime, copy and paste. Hold the time arrows to advance or rewind.
- Automatically save position, size, rotation and mirror edits to an existing keyframe—no extra Add / replace key click.
- Thumbnail image-clip timeline: drag in images, extend or trim their duration, split clips and replace a clip by dropping another image onto it while keeping its timing and motion.
- Undo/Redo for saved animation edits, including dropped images, clip edits and automatic pose saves.
- View details opens the keyframe information separately.
- Size and rotation arrows adjust by one and repeat while held. Match size from Left or Right.
Live Hand Puppeteering
- Open Hands — Live Hand Puppeteering to load and perform with saved gestures.
- Each character has its own hand library, shared by its three puppet profiles.
- Independent left/right playback, visibility, size, rotation and mirror controls.
- Click and drag hands in the live preview; Reset to original position returns them to their remembered starting pose. Live movement does not overwrite saved keyframes.
- Existing PuppetDesk Puppet OBS capture window name is preserved.
Images, movies and saving
Movie hand layers remain supported, with video playback separate from keyframe animation. The new clip timeline edits still-image durations; it does not trim or slow movie footage or export video. Saved presets retain artwork paths, so keep the original files in place.
Updated README
Sections 23–27 cover Hand Animation Studio, automatic keyframe saving, timing, copy/paste, image clips, saving/loading, Undo/Redo and Live Hand Puppeteering using the names printed on the controls.
