  • Add a CI step which releases to the private PyPI when on main
  • Add a check that the VERSION file has changed when merging into main

This allows continuously releasing updated versions to the private PyPI (with
bumped .devX version suffixes), but at the cost that the developer needs to
manually bump this version number.
