Access denied for admin user right after installation

So I just installed superset in a virtual environment according to the section Python Virtual Environment and want to start doing anything useful.

GIVEN I log in with the admin user
THEN I get lots of unsatisfying messages (see list below)
AND WHEN I try to do anything (e.g. new query, new dashboard, new chart) I get Access denied.
WHERE I expected to start becoming productive.

System setup

I am running superset from an WSL-Ubuntu-20.04 being hosted by a Windows 10.

I did not install the software with sudo rights.

Error messages directly after login as admin

• An error occurred while fetching chart info: Not authorized
• An error occurred while fetching query info: Not authorized
• There was an issues fetching your dashboards: [object Response]
• There was an issues fetching your chart: [object Response]
• There was an issues fetching your saved queries: [object Response]
• There was an issue fetching your recent activity: Access is Denied

What can I do in order to be able to start working?
