What's new in 1.2.0

Faster start-up

The panels, plan list and editor now load straight away, and the sky map fills in its area when it is ready. Before, the whole interface waited for the map to finish loading, which could take 15 seconds or more on a slow connection. If the map cannot load at all, the rest of ACP keeps working.

Update notices

ACP now tells you when a newer release is out. A patch release shows a small dot on the Help button, a minor release a slim banner, and a major release a more visible one. Each links to the release notes and can be dismissed. Docker installs are told to pull the new image. ACP checks GitHub at most once a day and sends nothing about you. You can turn the check off in Settings, or with ACP_UPDATE_CHECK=0.

Extensions

Extensions can now add plan fields, editor sections, Activity types and cards, project settings and scheduled jobs, and can act after each scan. See docs/extensions.md.

A new endpoint, POST /api/uploads/<id>/progress, lets an outside tool report the progress of a file transfer, which shows as a card on the Activity tab.

Grader and processing names

Frame grader figures are now stored as grader, and processing events use the processing source. Existing data and senders keep working: old stored data is read and migrated, and an extension can register older names as aliases.

Removed

A few features that were specific to one setup have moved out of ACP and into a separate extension. Plans keep any fields they had, unchanged.

Other

• The Activity tab defaults to the system time zone.
• Docs, comments and test data are now generic.
