Reading Vault now works on iPhone and iPad with Pro.

  • One Pro license covers your computer and your phone or tablet. Without Pro, a phone or tablet shows the "Reading Vault on phones is part of Pro" screen, where you can buy or paste a key. The free version on a computer is unchanged.
  • On a phone, books are read aloud with the phone's own built-in voices, and listening stops when you lock the phone. Needs iOS 17 or newer.
  • On a phone, touch and hold a word to highlight it or look it up.
  • Android installs but isn't supported yet.
  • New for PDFs: a Text view that lays out the PDF's words like an EPUB, with a Page | Text switch.
  • Books reopen on the page you were reading.
  • Listen no longer reads footnote numbers in books that mark them as small raised links.
  • Listen says numbers like 19th and 1990s as words.
  • Natural voices say "live", "lives" and "lived" right when they are verbs.
  • Needs Obsidian 1.8.9 or newer. On an older Obsidian you keep 1.0.4.
