A writing workflow for Obsidian. Manage projects, chapters (optional), scenes, and versioned drafts in plain markdown, with flexible folder structure and native compatibility with Obsidian Bases.
Draft Bench is inspired by Longform, with added emphasis on per-scene and per-chapter draft history as first-class files, rich metadata via frontmatter, and a compile system that requires no JavaScript knowledge.
- Getting Started: install the plugin and create your first project.
- Projects, Chapters, and Scenes: the core data model.
- Drafts and Versioning: how Draft Bench handles draft history.
- Manuscript Builder: the compile modal (and the dockable Manuscript view it pairs with).
- Getting started: Getting Started · Manuscript Builder · Importing from Scrivener
- Core workflow: Projects, Chapters, and Scenes · Drafts and Versioning · Templates
- Reference: Essential Properties · Frontmatter Reference · Settings and Configuration · Context Menu Actions
