What is the recommended way to permanently disable snapshots?

I already have a backup system I like, and I prefer not to get surprised by large files taking up disk space when I previously deleted them.

I did the following:

systemctl disable --now snapper-timeline.timer snapper-cleanup.timer
snapper delete-config
snapper -c home delete-config
btrfs filesystem balance start /

Which seemed to work, but then Omarchy seemed to recreate the root config at least, and because I disabled the cleanup timer it accumulated hundreds of snapshots that froze my system for 2 hours until they finally deleted.

How can I prevent Omarchy from recreating the snapper configs? Should I just uninstall snapper or will Omarchy reinstall it?

It would be great if this was documented. I can see from issues that a number of people have trouble with the snapshots and may prefer to just disable them permanently.

I tried removing snapper and it's required by limine-snapper-sync, which I don't want to touch unless it's confirmed it won't break my bootloader...
