Lodge 1.0

Home base for your media. Your folders, your names, every card. Every copy is checked with SHA-256, so your footage comes off the card safely.

  • Notices cards as you insert them. Any removable drive with media on it, including cards that were already in when Lodge opened.
  • A Card → Media → Destination window, read left to right, with the offload bar along the bottom.
  • Copies only what's new. A ledger remembers every offloaded file, so inserting the same card again copies only new files.
  • Verified copies. Each file is read back from disk and checked with SHA-256 before it gets its final name. Nothing is ever overwritten.
  • Naming templates with tokens ({project}, {camera}, {date}, {time}, {type}, {card}, {original}, {seq}, {ext} and more), template presets and a live preview of every final name.
  • Sidecars and proxies sorted. Sidecars keep their clip's name; proxies go into Proxies/ and sidecars into Sidecars/.
  • Presets. Save a whole setup and switch to it from the toolbar.
  • Quick dump. Skip the project name and offload a card right away.
  • Skip short videos. Accidental takes under a few seconds stay on the card.
  • Favorite destinations with their free space, one click apart.
  • Re-offload missing copies or the whole card, without overwriting.
  • Format a card safely. A Ready to format badge appears once every file has a verified copy.
  • Thumbnails, list view and Quick Look.
  • Recent Offloads with Show in Finder, which opens one window on the folder the copies share.
  • Themes and Light mode.
  • Menu bar mode. Keep Lodge in the menu bar to watch for cards.
  • First-launch setup that walks you through your first preset.
  • A folder for each file type inside the last folder.
  • Choose which days to offload: Any date, Today, Last 7 days or a custom range.
  • Correct free space on external drives that aren't APFS, and a clear message when a destination drive is read-only.
  • Help ▸ Report a Bug… with Lodge's log attached, and a crash-report prompt on the next launch.
  • Check for Updates (automatic checks can be turned off in Settings).
  • Tip Jar… in the Lodge and Help menus, for optional tips.

Requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Universal: runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

Install

Try free 3 days, then $10.

  1. Download Lodge-1.0.dmg below.
  2. Open the DMG and drag Lodge onto the Applications folder.

First launch

Lodge isn't notarized by Apple yet, so macOS warns you the first time you open it. You only have to do this once:

  • macOS 15 Sequoia and later:
    1. Open Lodge and click Done on the warning.
    2. Go to System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security.
    3. Scroll down, click Open Anyway next to Lodge, and confirm.
  • macOS 14 Sonoma: right-click (or Control-click) Lodge in Applications, choose Open, then click Open in the dialog.

The first time Lodge reads a card, macOS may ask whether "Lodge would like to access files on a removable volume". Click Allow.

Checksums (SHA-256)
