Having trouble with gnome-terminal / ptyxis and starting with goose

I was trying to use toad -a goose to start toad with goose as the agent.
I have the latest toad and goose. If I launch toad with the guided agent screen I can use goose normally. If I try to use toad -a goose I end up with a corrupt terminal but toad is still running???

Trying it with toad -a gemini seemed to work fine.

This seems to only happen in ptyxis / gnome-terminal

Let me know if you want a screen recording. Cut and pasting doesn't quite capture what seems to be happening.

The problem seems to go deeper for me. If I toad -a goose and press ctrl+q, it doesn't exit cleanly. It seems to kind of hang for a long time. After that happens, it will occasionally start up with the corrupt display in both ghostty and gnome-terminal (ptyxis).

If I just toad and ctrl+q it exits normally. I think maybe something isn't exiting cleanly when interacting with an agent.
