The Pinyin Toolkit is able to automatically fill out a field in your fact with Anki-recognised “[sound:]” tags corresponding to the reading of the text you have entered. You’ll then be able to include this field on your cards to hear the Chinese being spoken any time you like!
Even better, the Toolkit can use the same sound files to automatically generate audio for each of the measure words of a noun. For example, it might choose to generate audio containing 八本书 for your 书 fact.
The fun doesn’t stop there: you are able to install several audio packs from different sources and with different speakers. The toolkit will then choose the best matching pack to use when generate the audio reading for your characters – minimizing the number of missing sounds while still never “chopping between” several speakers in a distracting way. All the media fields you need are automatically copied to your deck’s media directory as they are needed.
