How to use the clustered nr BLAST database?

Hi everyone

I'm using Diamond for a long time, but I have always used it with a NR database created from a fasta file

Today I was trying to use Diamond with the NR clustered BLAST database, but I can't find how to do this, as the diamond prepdb command just says: Database file is not a BLAST database

Please, could you help me out? The Diamond version that I have currently installed is v2.1.10.164

Not all diamond deployment versions have BLAST database support, yours apparently does not. I recommend to download the latest version, which does not need prepdb any more, you can just pass the BLAST database as any other.

Indeed, it was the Diamond version, I updated it and now everything works fine.
