Development time causally orders the events of the construction and elaboration of a software system.
Views of software can be Synchronic or Diachronic in development time. A Synchronic view describes the software at a single point in time without regard for how it got that way or its possibilities for future development. A Diachronic view encompasses a period of time, describing the historical development of the software and its likely futures.
