Allow working on a project without creating a copy/workspace

I have several projects that are not important enough to create workspaces. The downsides with workspaces:

• my project is set up (app URL, creds, sqlite DB, etc.) and any copy will start from scratch
• the project might be opened in the IDE
• some paths might be hardcoded

For some of these projects I don't want to create a workspace, I just want 1 claude code to fix something quickly.

In those scenarios I can't use Polyscope, so my workflow is not uniform. I wish I could just use Polyscope for these projects as well.

(it would also help IMO to onboard new users who might not have "setup scripts" and might not immediately need a "multi-workspace" approach at first)

+1 on this. I'd love an option to start a session inside the current local clone, and have a per-repo option to make that the default. Some other reasons (admittedly often around tech debt/legacy projects):

• Huge multi-gig repos still take a bit before workspace is ready
• On large apps, I almost always want to use my existing Docker setup with all my test data in the database. Separate worktrees means long docker setups and re-seeding/recreating test data in worktrees.
• Often times as lead dev I'm running things that don't require any code changes, research for project planning, writing requirements docs, finding answers on code behavior for stakeholders, etc. I just want a Plan session in the current local clone, no need for worktrees.
• We have some old-school PHP projects that expect very particular paths, or expect other projects at very particular relative paths
