Make sure that you're able to communicate with the server. Try using 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost to force IPv4.

It's not the ipv4 problem. Changing localhost to 127.0.0.1 got the same error.
I'm doubting if rtsp-simple-server doesn't support h264 stream publish...

I guess the problem really is: the ffmpeg cmd line say it can't connect to docker server, but there isn't any error in docker's running console...

if there are no log lines in the server, it means that ffmpeg is unable to reach the server. Please check connectivity between the server and ffmpeg. Try also

echo testing | nc localhost 8554

A log line like this should appear:

if it doesn't appear, it means that there's a firewall in between, or some other program is listening on that port.

Hi @aler9 I met the similar problem. I am using the executable file in the same machine with two terminals.
The output of the rtsp server is
