How to add content of file to attributes?

How can I turn content from a csv column into an attribute?

I have imported a csv via "manage > import survey". It contained the column "countryCodeInFavorGrouped" with multiple character values. The values were country-shortnames like DE, BE, UK etcetera. Opening "Manage Files Alt+F" one can see that the import turned the column into "Files". The files are attached to cases (which can be seen under "Manage Cases ALT+C"), which also contains the data from the column "countryCodeInFavorGrouped". I don't know how to move this data into a column under an attribute.

My end goal is to make a chart where I can see WHO voted against/infavor/absent a legislation across a certain time frame (across multiple files), in relation to one or multiple topics. The topic is pre-selected through the codes. Basically ... files/time AND codes/topic AND votes AND country. I am not sure, but maybe this can be done via an Attribute chart? I wouldn't mind if it's not doable in a single chart, but through a collection of multiple charts.

What's your recommendation?

After I wrote all that up, I found #911, so maybe the answer is in there I will check it out, but it looks complicated.

Hello, I dont know the steps to did to import the survey. So I tried to recreate some if it:

I am presuming on Manage > Import survey
That you changed the column type from character to qualitative, so it could be imported as a file:

But struggle to properly understand it.
Do you need QualCoder for this? or is it something that can be done in Excel?

I too wonder, if Excel can do it. Though, QualCoder is great for making graphs based on the "coding text" and "auto-code" features.

This look more like a problem for Excel. Not a graph within qualcoder. But it might be possible to prepare data for excel.
It's just hard to understand.
Perhaps if you gave me an example small QualCoder project folder (zip and email me) (it can have fake data, as long at it is good enough to replicate the way your data is now) to help me work out, from the way the data is currently stored, to get it to what you need.
