SplitCost Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using SplitCost ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
SplitCost is an expense-splitting application that allows users to:
- Create and manage groups for shared expenses
- Record, split, and track expenses among group members
- Upload receipt images for expense records
- Settle balances between group members
- Invite others to join expense groups
The App is available on Android, iOS, and web platforms.
To use SplitCost, you must create an account using one of the following methods:
- Email address and password
- Google Sign-In
- Facebook Login
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete registration information
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
If you register with email and password, you must verify your email address before accessing the full features of the App.
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent expense information
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or accounts
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure
- Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Share your account credentials with others
- Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the App
You retain ownership of all content you submit to the App, including expense descriptions, receipt images, and group information. By submitting content, you grant SplitCost a limited, non-exclusive license to store, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the service.
You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload does not violate the rights of any third party.
SplitCost is a tracking and record-keeping tool only. The App:
- Does not process financial transactions or payments
- Does not transfer money between users
- Does not provide financial advice
- Is not a substitute for professional accounting services
All expense entries, balances, and settlement records are user-generated and informational. Actual payments and settlements between users occur outside the App and are the sole responsibility of the users involved.
When you invite someone to a group using their email address:
- An invitation record is created in our system
- The invitee will be able to join the group when they create an account or sign in with the invited email
- You may cancel pending invitations at any time
- The invitee's email address will be stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy
We strive to keep the App available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time
- Perform maintenance that may temporarily affect availability
- Update these Terms with reasonable notice
The App, including its design, code, branding, and documentation, is the intellectual property of SplitCost. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App
- We are not responsible for any disputes between users regarding expenses or settlements
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any)
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through Account → Delete Account in the App, or by contacting us at DroidDeepak@gmail.com.
Upon account deletion, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
