Enable toolbars in canvases, PDFs, video, and other common file types under the File types settings. There you can toggle each type you would like to see your toolbars in.
Toolbars appear based on their position, with the exception of the Below Properties position, in which case the toolbar appears in the Top (fixed) position instead.
As with notes, which toolbar appears depends its Display rules.
Other file types not listed above can be manually added, if you can sort out their data type. Type in the name of a data type (e.g., excalidraw) under Other data types.
- This is not the same as the file's extension. (e.g., Excalidraw files have a
.mdfile extension.) - This uses the data type, which can be found by:
- inspecting the editor when you have a file open, and
- searching for the
data-typeattribute.
- Let me know if you need help trying to figure this out for a given plugin or file type.
