Since Handy already bundles the NVIDIA Parakeet model for live transcription, it would be great to extend that capability to external audio files.
The idea is simple: allow users to import an audio file (e.g. MP3, WAV, M4A) and have Parakeet transcribe it, outputting the result as text within the app. No additional model downloads or external dependencies would be needed since the model is already present.
This would make Handy useful beyond real-time transcription, covering use cases like transcribing recorded meetings, voice memos, or any other audio you already have on disk.
Happy to hear thoughts on feasibility.
