@clementrog clementrog released this 05 Nov 16:11

Apple Silicon Macs only. Open the signed package to install or upgrade, or run onadit update on 1.0.13 or later.

Onadit 1.0.18.

A new first run in Onadit.app. Setup is now a few short screens, and Return moves you forward on each one:

  • Connect your AI tools. Claude Code, Codex, Claude and Cursor show with their own icons, and the ones on your Mac are selected.
  • Capture: save new Claude Code and Codex sessions as you work, and pick who writes the short summary for each (Codex or Claude Code). You can also bring in your recent sessions: the newest 200 already on your Mac, shown with their exact count, chosen once.
  • Import a ChatGPT, Claude or Grok export. Click a logo to see how to get one.
  • Search: by meaning (recommended) or by exact words.
  • Agents: Onadit adds one line at the top of ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md and Codex's AGENTS.md: "Before a task, call onadit_context_pack with a 1-line description of it." A switch per tool, a backup first, and Settings removes the line again.
  • Ready shows each tool's state and the one step left, like /hooks in Codex.
  • When an agent first finds something in Onadit, you get a notification. Click it to see that recall. Onadit asks for notification permission once, when you finish setup.

If you update from an earlier version, setup doesn't run again. Your settings stay as they are.

What leaves your Mac:

  • Only if you choose it during setup. Recent sessions are summarized by the tool you picked, so their text goes to OpenAI (Codex) or Anthropic (Claude Code), the same as new sessions. Search by meaning sends chat text to Voyage AI. The screens say so before you continue.
  • Nothing else changes. See onadit.com/docs/egress.

Restart your AI tools after updating, so they run the new version.

Onadit 1.0.17

Choose a tag to compare

@clementrog clementrog released this 04 Nov 16:47

Apple Silicon Macs only. Open the signed package to install or upgrade, or run onadit update on 1.0.13 or later.

Onadit 1.0.17.

The free trial changes. Until now, an install on your own Voyage key, or with no key, had no time limit. From 1.0.17, every install gets the same free trial: 7 days from your agent's first recall, starting no later than 7 days after install, within 14 days of this Mac's first install. Then €5 a month until 31 December 2026 and €9 a month after, VAT excluded.

  • If your agents already used Onadit, your trial starts on the day you update. If they haven't yet, it starts with their first recall, or 7 days after the update at the latest. The app, onadit status and onadit doctor show your exact date.
  • After the trial, without a license, Onadit stops answering your agents. Capture keeps saving your sessions. Your archive, keyword search in the app and export keep working. Nothing is deleted or locked.
  • Two days before the end, your agents can tell you how many days are left, how often they used Onadit, and whether they think it was worth it for you.
  • To add a license: Add License… in Onadit.app, or onadit license <code>. Recall comes back at once.

Since 1.0.16:

  • Session hooks are on by default, so Claude Code and Codex get your context when a session starts. Doctor, onadit status and the app say when they are off. Codex asks you to approve its hooks once with /hooks; the Tools page shows the step. The hook runs with Onadit's own Node, not one from your PATH.
  • Agents look in Onadit before they answer, and say in one line what helped.
  • Slack and Notion threads you capture now count as evidence in your agents' context.
  • Capture keeps more of your own rules and preferences from each session.
  • A chat imported again from an older export is updated, not added a second time.
  • After a reinstall, or if the data folder is deleted, Onadit recognises its own search key again.

What leaves your Mac changes too:

  • On first launch, Onadit sends a stable code derived from your Mac's hardware ID, along with the app version, to check the free trial. It contains no conversation content. Failed requests are retried, and reinstalling or using another account may send it again.
  • While you have a license and use Onadit's search key, Onadit sends your license and its install ID to renew the key: at most once a day, and again if the key is missing or rejected.
    See onadit.com/docs/egress.

@clementrog clementrog released this 03 Nov 08:19

Apple Silicon Macs only. Open the signed package to install or upgrade, or run onadit update on 1.0.13 or later.

Onadit 1.0.16.

Since 1.0.15:

  • Decisions become records. Onadit now keeps the decisions from your saved conversations, and the open items in your project trackers, as separate records. Your agents get shorter answers that point to what you decided, and say when nothing matches. Onadit builds this store on your Mac by itself after the update; there is nothing to run.
  • A new app window. A sidebar with Overview, Log, Memory, Tools, and Capture, Privacy and General as pages. The overview shows when your agents asked your memory, hour by hour. The log lists every recall; open one to see, on the side, what came back.
  • Large imports go faster: decisions are recorded and indexed in batches.
  • After a failed sync import, the engine comes back, and Onadit says what held the folder.
  • New, off unless you turn it on: capture from Guichet, for the Slack and Notion workspaces you choose.

With search by meaning on, 1.0.16 also sends to Voyage the open items in your projects' trackers and the decisions recorded with your saved conversations, to be embedded. Only the line or statement is sent. See onadit.com/docs/egress.

Apple Silicon Macs only. Open the signed package to install or upgrade, or run onadit update on 1.0.13 or later.

Onadit 1.0.15.

Since 1.0.14:

  • A new app icon: the pile without its texture, with depth from light and shadow.
  • After an update that changes the icon, the Dock shows the new one too. Before, a Dock icon you kept for Onadit could stay on the old picture.
  • One optional question: where did you find Onadit? Answer it in the app's overview or through your AI tool, or skip it. An answer is sent once, without your install ID; a skip sends nothing.

Onadit 1.0.14.

Since 1.0.13:

  • When the free week is over and no license is stored, onadit search and your AI tools' Onadit search now say so and point to onadit.com/checkout and onadit license <code>, instead of asking you to add an embedding key.

@clementrog clementrog released this 30 Oct 08:21

Apple Silicon Macs only. Open the signed package to install or upgrade.

Onadit 1.0.13.

Since 1.0.12:

  • onadit update now upgrades a Mac installed from the package in place. It downloads the signed release, checks its signature and notarization, installs it without an admin password, and waits until Onadit is ready again. The menu bar's "Update Onadit…" does the same. Updating to 1.0.13 itself is one last install of this package: 1.0.12 and earlier don't have this yet.
  • Stopping Onadit no longer loses or repeats work. A save, import, reindex or compaction that was running when Onadit stopped (an update, a restart, a crash) runs again at the next start, in its place in the queue. Files changed while Onadit was stopped are picked up, and a folder that is not there (an unplugged disk) keeps its memory instead of being emptied.
  • An export dropped in the inbox while Onadit was stopped is imported at the next start. It adds the conversations you don't have yet and never replaces one you already have; drop it again to refresh those.
  • With Ollama not running, a folder set to stay local is no longer sent to the cloud embedding service. A local folder inside a cloud one, or reached through a link, stays local too.
  • A rebuild indexes PDF and Word files from their text, not their raw bytes.

Apple Silicon Macs only. Open the signed package to install or upgrade.

Onadit 1.0.12.

Since 1.0.11:

  • Secrets are redacted at capture. An API key or a .env line pasted into a conversation is replaced by a label such as [redacted: GitHub token 3fa9c2d1] before it is stored, sent for embedding or shown to an agent. Conversations imported earlier and what was already in your memory are not changed yet.

@clementrog clementrog released this 28 Oct 21:05

Apple Silicon Macs only. Open the signed package to install or upgrade.

Onadit 1.0.10.

Since 1.0.9:

  • Upgrading with the package now removes files that the new version no longer ships. Until now, macOS Installer kept them, so a Mac that upgraded from 1.0.8 still had the unused code for direct calls to api.anthropic.com and api.openai.com. Onadit never loaded it. Your data, settings and agent connections are not touched
  • The package no longer includes Onadit's compiled tests

@clementrog clementrog released this 28 Oct 18:57

Apple Silicon Macs only. Open the signed package to install or upgrade.

Onadit 1.0.9.

Since 1.0.8:

  • Onadit is listed on the official MCP Registry as com.onadit/onadit. An agent that finds it there starts it with npx -y onadit mcp serve, which runs the Onadit MCP server over stdio and relays to the engine on your Mac. Connections made with onadit mcp install work as before
  • The package no longer holds the unused code for direct calls to api.anthropic.com and api.openai.com. Onadit never made those calls: AI work runs on your own Claude Code or Codex
