Apple Silicon Macs only. Open the signed package to install or upgrade, or run onadit update on 1.0.13 or later.

Onadit 1.0.18.

A new first run in Onadit.app. Setup is now a few short screens, and Return moves you forward on each one:

  • Connect your AI tools. Claude Code, Codex, Claude and Cursor show with their own icons, and the ones on your Mac are selected.
  • Capture: save new Claude Code and Codex sessions as you work, and pick who writes the short summary for each (Codex or Claude Code). You can also bring in your recent sessions: the newest 200 already on your Mac, shown with their exact count, chosen once.
  • Import a ChatGPT, Claude or Grok export. Click a logo to see how to get one.
  • Search: by meaning (recommended) or by exact words.
  • Agents: Onadit adds one line at the top of ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md and Codex's AGENTS.md: "Before a task, call onadit_context_pack with a 1-line description of it." A switch per tool, a backup first, and Settings removes the line again.
  • Ready shows each tool's state and the one step left, like /hooks in Codex.
  • When an agent first finds something in Onadit, you get a notification. Click it to see that recall. Onadit asks for notification permission once, when you finish setup.

If you update from an earlier version, setup doesn't run again. Your settings stay as they are.

What leaves your Mac:

  • Only if you choose it during setup. Recent sessions are summarized by the tool you picked, so their text goes to OpenAI (Codex) or Anthropic (Claude Code), the same as new sessions. Search by meaning sends chat text to Voyage AI. The screens say so before you continue.
  • Nothing else changes. See onadit.com/docs/egress.

Restart your AI tools after updating, so they run the new version.
