A good part of the UX is seeing other peoples models in varying colours. And in the spirit of making collaboration easier and more open, I'd rather this UX didn't fall short for those who are colour blind.
I know very little about colour blind libraries in tech. A cursory search returns lots of colour blind simulators. But nothing that can tell me if two colours are too similar visually.
I see a few options in regards to this;
Allow users to choose local colours.
Offer ways to distinguish between other people's work in progress geometry besides colours
Rely on accessibility tools such as Windows' Color filter. I have no way of knowing however, how useful this tool is.
Hence, I would love feedback from anyone who is colour blind or has experience designing for the colour blind to help guide our accessibility development.
