"Become a web developer" is broad enough that the answer changes a lot depending on what you actually want to build. The path looks different if you want to ship landing pages for clients, work on a SaaS frontend, or do full-stack with your own backend. Quick path that works for most people starting from zero: Lock in HTML, CSS, and vanilla JS first. Not React, not Tailwind, not Next. You'll fight every framework if the fundamentals aren't solid. Build 3 or 4 small things from scratch like a landing page, a todo app, and a weather app hitting a public API. After the first week, no tutorials, just docs and your own code. Once that feels natural, pick one framework and ship something real with it. React or Vue are both fine, doesn't really matter which. The skill that transfers is "I can take an idea, build it, deploy it". Vercel or Netlify make the deploy step trivial. Codewars is great for keeping your JS sharp on the side, but it won't make you a web dev on its own. Building actual sites is what gets you hired. For discords, the freeCodeCamp one is solid and beginner friendly. The Reactiflux server is the go-to once you start with React. Both have channels where you can drop "I'm stuck on this" and people actually help. What stack are you leaning toward and what would you want to build first? Easier to point you somewhere useful with that. |

Please note that Github Discussions is not a valid place for discussions about beginners, general software development, community coordination, solving kata, etc. This kind of topics should be discussed in corresponding channels of Codewars Discord like |

Hi , there! I'm actually new here and I was hoping maybe anyone here would be willing to lend me their help and help me guide the path of becoming a web developer. Any help would be much appreciated and I hope to learn a lot from everyone of you. And if possible could you suggest some discords too 🙏.
