v0.18.2 - Easier docking with layout previews
Pre-releaseDrag panels into place with a full preview of their destination, directly inside MyUCLA Class Planner.
Changes
- Remove bottom docking. Panels can dock left, right or back into the main workspace, or remain floating.
- Show one shaded rectangle covering the final destination while dragging, like the filled docking preview in Obsidian. The panel lands in the space shown.
- Grab blank space in a panel header, its dotted grip, or its navigation tab. Wider snap regions make placement easier; the actual panel still follows your pointer.
- Keep native buttons, search fields and Help popovers interactive. Escape cancels a drag. Closing and reopening panels preserves existing controls and selections.
- Correct Details docking when My classes is hidden or floating and when space is limited on a small screen.
- Keep focused Details actions reachable immediately after scrolling, including on small screens.
Install or update
Download better-myucla-v0.18.2.zip and extract it. In chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode and load the extracted dist folder. For an existing unpacked installation, replace its build files, click Reload, then refresh Class Planner. Enable Tidy up MyUCLA's own layout in the extension popup.
Verification
Typecheck, the production build and 389 unit tests passed. Fictional browser fixtures compare the filled preview with the final panel bounds, exercise header dragging and cancellation, and preserve native controls, selections, redraw handling, printing and Original layout.
This is a prerelease. The actual installed page still needs verification after Chrome reload; no live enrollment action was performed. Layout choices remain in page memory. No new permissions, API or persistent storage were added. v0.18.1 remains available for rollback.
