When selecting category, show sample images

It can be hard to know whether you have found the right category just by its name.

The category could be for a different thing that bears the same name (and no category exists yet for the thing you took a picture of). Or you might have chosen a spelling different from the one used on Commons and the category is about something else. Or you might have a typo.

Solution: Show a few sample pictures from within the category. They could show as a popup whenever you select a category.

I think the real pain is actually inability to find any fitting category (connected to your issue #237) but this might help a bit too. Still feel this is a rather low-priority enhancement.

1. Where should I pick the sample images from?
2. Threshold number of sample images to be shown?

1- Are you asking sample images to upload while testing? You can work on beta cluster.
2- 9 maybe as 3*3 grid

2. Sure. 9 works.

The puspose of this issue is guiding user to make sure if a category is proper, by looking similar photos under same category (in Commons). I hope this answered your question 1:) It can be a good idea to get a little more familiar with the app before starting development to make things easier for you:)

1. You should get the images from the category. I am sure there a Mediawiki API URL to get images from a given category, please let us know when you find it :-)

1. Can I only use the Common's API endpoint to retrieve the images or can I get them outta any of the following?

   https://nl.wikipedia.org/w/api.php # Dutch Wikipedia API
   https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/api.php # Wikimedia Commons API

2. What if the API doesn't return 9 results in total?

3. Can I use 3rd party Image services to improve the results too?
