This app provides functionality for my new project, the GNOME Apps Customizer, which builds on the code of the AppAdder. The two apps will be merged together soon and the AppAdder will be discontinued. Future production will continue over at the GNOME Apps Customizer.
The AppAdder program allows power users to customize their desktop and Linux experience by adding custom apps to the GNOME dash menu. If you've ever wanted an executable file/program in the dash, this program easily does that for you and lets you set a custom name/icon. AppAdder lets you install any kind of executable to the dash menu and set a custom icon/name for the file.
AppAdder is packaged as a .deb file for installation to your desktop. Future ports (like .AppImage, .rpm, etc.) will be coming in later versions.
Check out the releases tab to install the program.

Let's say you have a script you want to execute every day. It can be tedious to open the command line, locate the file, and run it. This program lets you create an "app" for your file and it'll execute it every time you click on its icon in dash.

Maybe you have a
.AppImageyou like to run. Every time you want to run it you need to find the file location and open it. It might not even have an icon! This is the 21st century, are we really going to put up with that? NO!! To fix this we run the AppAdder, locate the AppImage, set the icon file, and instantaneously we have placed that AppImage in the dash for super easy access.
