1.2.0: turn live prices on or off for each widget

Ultimate Crypto Widget 1.2 lets you choose, widget by widget, whether prices update live.

Nothing changes after updating: the new switch is on for every widget, so your widgets keep updating exactly as before.

A Live prices switch on every widget

Every widget that updates prices live now has a Live prices setting:

• in the widget's settings under Crypto Widgets, a checkbox;
• in the block editor sidebar and in Elementor, an on/off switch;
• in a shortcode, live_prices="0" to turn it off, for example [ucwp_widget id="12" live_prices="0"].

Turn it off and the widget shows the prices from when the page loaded. Visitors' browsers then make no connection to Coinbase, Kraken or Binance, which helps if you'd rather not have pages contact outside services, or just want a calm, static widget.

Market Overview and Trending Coins don't update live, so they don't have the switch.

Requirements

WordPress 6.5.5 or newer (tested up to 7.1) and PHP 8.2 or newer.

Install

Update from your WordPress dashboard, or install Ultimate Crypto Widget from Plugins → Add New. The zip attached to this release is the same build that goes to WordPress.org.
