3.14.0 — automatic lanes, per-task budgets and a sharper resume
-
Automatic lanes.
task --paths GLOB(repeatable) analyses the files to change — Git co-changes weigh more than imports, byte-identical copies stay together, shared hubs go to a coordinator contract lane L0 — and, when there are two or more independent groups and free builders, creates the lanes itself: disjoint owned files, a builder per lane chosen by balance in its own checkout of the project, a reader of the other model, dependencies on L0, a brief per lane, one recorded decision and the assignments, all or nothing. Windows silent for two days, in stand-by or reading the parent are never chosen.lanes --task ID --paths …previews,--applyis coordinator only,--lanes nonekeeps one task. Measured on the real repository: the two lanes of the 3.13 storage round are found again in under a second. -
Per-task review budget.
decision --extend-budget TASK --stage plan|code --by Nwith the owner's words adds rounds to one task only; spent rounds are never reset and the extension follows supersede and replace. Upgrade every window to 3.14 before using it: older windows refuse the extended reads. -
Resume sees stalled work.
statusanddoctor --resumelist tasks accepted 30 minutes ago with no recorded work (a parent with open lanes is not stalled). -
Proofs and resources.
provewithout argv runs the agreed proof; the full suite is refused at once, with a clear message, where localhost cannot be bound (sandboxed clients). Reservations name their task: another task of the same identity waits in the normal queue. -
Storage.
storage adoptalso adopts old save packages;storage compactseals legacy writable candidates read-only so volumes without copy-on-write can share them; purge reads protections once per batch and again only when another writer moves the journal. -
Checklist.
checklist --moment push --range A..Bchecks the fast-forward without an upstream. -
Found before release by a cross-increment council and code-graph, and fixed with tests: a lane reader that built the code it read, a resource grant an alias could not release, idle advice on integration parents, context packets hiding extensions, and documentation that contradicted the code.
-
For integrators.
storage_reuse.compactmoved tostorage_compact.compact(no alias, to keep the storage modules free of import cycles); the CLIstorage compactis unchanged.

Validation: strict tools/parallel_tests.py on 0e56ba3, 2362/2362 passed (no known reds); final reads by a Claude and a Codex reader, neither an author of what it read.
Cisco static scan: the 3.14.0 loopback bind probe (runtime.local_bind_available, bind 127.0.0.1:0, nothing sent) trips the scanner's cross-file exfiltration rules; tools/cisco_gate.py excepts those two rules only while scripts/runtime.py is their single network file. The report still lists them.
