This repo contains a few planning sketches notes for an idea that I've had and wanted to implement for some time - and which it struck me today is now within very easy reach thanks to evolving capabiliteis in agentic AI.
Put yourself in the shoes of a consultant (me).
- Client want updates on projects
- You want to keep clients updated
However:
- Clients don't want 20 emails a day as you work through a project
The idea that I've long envisioned is something like an outbound mail queue with an override capabilities for the odd time when something is truly time sensitive (in my line of work these are the exceptions).
The objective is to take a stream of email updates sent ad-hoc and condense them into an executive summary type communication sent at a predefined time period or interval.
The idea is fairly simple - how to execute it ... requires more thoughts.
I'll use N8N for planning.
We'll start with just one client and then hope then batch this out to a client roster. We'll call them AI Inc.
A longstanding workflow preference of mine is creating client email addresses. Let's say this one is aiinc@danielaitech.com
If we're on Google (I am) we can try to use a Group as a staging/catcher/queue.
So when I email aiinc@danielaitech.com rather than sending straight to the client POCs (as usual) it goes into a Google Group.
- Read every message in the group between last run and this run (or over lagging time period)
- Create a summary email for the client summarising the key updates
- Send to client
Optional but would be efffective:
- Log last run OR
- Log all emails processed in last run
- Identify action items for client
- Identify time sensitive decisions/input required and highlight
- Summarise
- Group
- After X updates (it's a big queue, better consolidate to a report)
- Immediately with override in subject line (bypass mechanism)
- At X PM (regular, non urgent)
