We are happy to announce the release of 24.0.0. This release includes binaries that you can download below.

About this release

Dash Core 24.0.0 is the first release of the Dash Core 24.x series. This is a major version that includes the v24 network upgrade (hard fork) and is mandatory for all nodes.

  • Masternodes and evonodes must upgrade before the v24 start date, November 9, 2026 (00:00 UTC). Activation needs 85% of the signing quorum's members to run v24, and older masternodes are voted bad during DKG and receive PoSe penalties.
  • All other nodes must upgrade before activation, or they will follow an invalid chain. The earliest possible activation is block 2,580,480, around November 28, 2026.

Highlights include decentralized masternode shares and multi-party payouts, extended masternode addresses, version 2 asset locks and unlocks for Dash Platform, compact quorum proofs, descriptor wallets by default, and asynchronous address, spent and timestamp indexes.

Before upgrading, please read the "Upgrading and downgrading" section of the release notes. In particular:

  • Nodes with -addressindex, -spentindex or -timestampindex migrate those indexes on first start, which can take 20–40 minutes or longer.
  • Masternodes now refuse to start with some settings v23 accepted (for example -blocksonly=1, -peerblockfilters=0, or a nonzero -maxuploadtarget).
  • Dash Core binaries now require macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.
