Getting error when using @portaljs/remark-wiki-link with starlight

I guess this is not related to portaljs project, which I don't even know what it is, but maybe someone here can help 🤷‍♂️.

I'm using https://npmx.dev/package/@portaljs/remark-wiki-link with https://starlight.astro.build like:

export default defineConfig({
    markdown: {
        remarkPlugins: [
            [
                wikiLinkPlugin,
                {}
            ],
        ],
    },
})

and getting this error:

08:43:51 [ERROR] [starlight-docs-loader] Error xyz.md: Failed to parse Markdown file "C:\Users\...\xyz.md":

also, the content of pages that contain wikilinks disappears.

I'm gessing maybe @portaljs/remark-wiki-link does something that breaks starlight?
