Can someone help me to get a taskbar with lua or scroll-ipc?

First of all thank you for this amazing wayland-compositor. Workflow is very great.
But mostly i forget what apps are opened or how they are arranged, even in overview mode it becomes difficult to tell sometimes.
so, i was thinking if someone could help me get a taskbar like something that either displays the app icons or titles (and not according to their opening time but according to their position on workspace). I have no coding or scripting knowledge.

in i3 i use tabbed layout (i have small screen laptop), so the tabbar always helps to know the opened windows.
Is there any way to get that in any bars or maybe scroll-bar?

I don't use a taskbar, but there are several bars that support one.

• Waybar has a module named wlr/taskbar that is compatible with scroll.
• Noctalia: it has a taskbar and dock. They say they support sway and scroll.
• DMS: DankMaterialShell also supports a configurable dock.

I also tried to submit a PR to quickshell to add support for some modules I wrote last year and planned to distribute, but it hasn't gotten any traction.

Edit: If you are just looking for a replacement to sway's tabbed containers, you can use a single column, open windows in vertical order, and use jump container to move to any of them. You get to peek the contents too.

There's also nwg-panel, which nicely sorts windows. It was left unsupported for a while, but seems like the owner starts taking care of the nwg project again
