Make Rofi slide in from the left?

As layer_shell animations have recently been implemented, is there a way to make my Rofi slide from the side instead of grow? I use the sidebar theme

To implement sliding or other effects we would need to change how animation curves work. This is inherited from regular surface animations, when there is a change in size, there is a "grow/shrink" effect, and when rofi maps the surface, the size changes from (0,0) to (width, height), that is why the size gets animated.
