Nearing release time; what's needed to finish?
- Issue open about various issues with in-memory store. For a few items, in-memory store still uses temp directory URIs, but nothing is there. Likely will have to be addressed in patch. The issue https://github.com/dita-ot/dita-ot/issues/3621 has several items in it, some have been addressed, others added. Expect to close this issue, and Radu can open more specific issue(s) for remaining item(s).
- Radu also asked about speed issue: https://github.com/dita-ot/dita-ot/issues/3568 original issue has been addressed, likely do not wish to do more on this specific ticket at this point. Concern with regressions with some potential changes, but remaining issues are largely in comments there now; maybe close issue, and if hot spots come up in 3.6 we can open issues for those specific areas.
- Closed a couple issues earlier this week by updating some dependencies with security issues (shouldn't impact us but good to update).
- Robert needs to take a look at the OASIS licensing info, as reported here: https://github.com/dita-ot/dita-ot/issues/3608 Radu will add additional notes to that issue.
- Need to polish off docs, see next section...
- Deferring open PRs to next release
- Style HTML output with classless styles
https://github.com/dita-ot/docs/pull/317
(Working prototype, but licensing issues prevent use) - Lint docs with Vale
https://github.com/dita-ot/docs/pull/284
(Errors with generated files, exclusion logic fails)
- Style HTML output with classless styles
- 3.6 docs work in progress
- Deploy preview available for 3.6 docs release branch:
https://preview-pr-320--dita-ot.netlify.app/dev/ - New feature highlights drafted
- Need more details on what's new in latest (Oct 2020) grammar files: updated audio/video, updated emphasis domain, removal of obsolete elements, addition of troubleshooting diagnostics
- What guidance can we provide vendors on using/testing in-memory & parallel processing (beyond enabling the parameters)
- Deploy preview available for 3.6 docs release branch:
Maybe in 2021...?
Jarno has been working on an update to the PDF Plugin Generator, aiming to support 3.6.
Travis issues, and other CI ... Travis is slowing things down a lot, so need to rely less upon it; some of the release will probably hit "wait for travis" points. May want to work some of this out in the 3.6 maintenance releases, which will give us some time to prep.
Update on DITA 2.0 progress. New key text element coming which should dramatically simplify how text is pulled from key definitions. Meeting ended unexpectedly during discussion of copy-to replacement; adding Robert's final comment here, which got cut off:
copy-to never specified syntax. DITA-OT sort of adopted "name of file as if it was DITA source". I think it's critical the replacement actually specify what goes there. is it that? is it the base file name? is it an actual HTML file name, which might override your processor's output extension? etc. Regardless it should say what goes there rather than leaving implementations to guess.
