How do you set up touch screen?

I'm pretty much finished with the core functionalities of my program. There are only a few things left, such as setting up inputs for touch screen laptops. However, when I went to do this, I found that there doesn't seem to be any API for this.

How do you set up touch screen?

EDIT: I'm on linux. Are touch screen inputs are automatically registered as mouse events on Windows and Mac but not Linux?
EDIT 2: You have to disable Wayland to enable touchscreen on Ubuntu/Mint devices to even have touch screen at all. Sadly, after doing this, there is still no touch screen input on Silk.NET
