Unable to load projects with jetbrains rider in Ubuntu 20.04 lts

I am using Ubuntu 20.04 with latest .net sdk (5.0.201) installed.

When I try to open the AspNetCore.sln with rider, all projects failed to load with error: can not find sdk 5.0.104.

If I add " "rollForward": "latestFeature" to global.json and try to open it again, rider is trying to "sync projects", the process takes forever to finish and still all projects failed to load.

Please help. Thank you.

I couldn't figure out the best area label to add to this issue. If you have write-permissions please help me learn by adding exactly one area label.

Are you able to load the project when you don't have a global.json specified at all?
